Experience in Nepal
The founder of this website, Andrew Zhao, is currently a high school student in Boston, Massachusetts. His first visit to the school took place in the summer of 2024, when he traveled there as a volunteer tutor. During his time at the monastery, Andrew taught the children a variety of subjects, including math, science, and Chinese. But the experience became much more than academic—through shared learning and laughter, strong bonds were formed between Andrew and the students.
Wanting to give back in a more personal way, Andrew, along with his family and friends, designed and donated customized bags for each child to carry their school supplies, as well as t-shirts for them to wear in their free time. They also organized a soccer and badminton tournament, awarding soccer cleats to the winners as prizes—small tokens of encouragement and celebration.

About Us
Efforts Following
the Journey
Despite the deep joy and connection he experienced during his time at the school, Andrew felt that a single summer simply wasn’t enough. The bonds he had formed and the stories he had heard stayed with him long after he returned home. Determined to continue supporting the students from afar, he launched a club at his high school to raise awareness, share the students’ stories, and encourage others to get involved. Through regular Zoom meetings, he worked to bridge the distance, connecting his classmates with the children at the monastery to exchange ideas, learn about each other's lives, and build cross-cultural friendships. These virtual conversations became windows into different worlds, full of laughter, curiosity, and mutual respect. To further expand this initiative, Andrew created this website—not only as a platform to tell the story of the school and its students, but also as a way to broaden the impact, rally support, and connect with others who believe in the power of education, kindness, and community.
